On Memorial Day we always want to do something or go somewhere and never seem to have a definite plan. This year it was rainy but, we still wanted to do something! So we asked our neighbors if they wanted to go somewhere? They decided to go up to Strawberry Reservoir. Sunday after church we told the kids we were going on a little camping trip and they had one hour to pack! This was definitely a lesson learned. (If there was a true emergency... we are not prepared!) We got up in the mountains and found we did not bring enough warm clothes or changes of clothes in case of an accident (falling in the mud or peeing in your pants) We also found we didn't have the necessities for camping like an ax, lighter fluid, pans, hot dog roasters etc.
The kids had a lot of fun throwing things in the fire.

Bryson and Halee

Ben was trying to get the RV working so we could watch a movie and so would have some heat (we didn't bring the warmest blankets) He wasn't having much luck. The campers near our campsite looked like they new all about camping, 3 campers, tents, 2 dog kennels a couple pickup trucks etc. So I told Ben he should go ask them if they knew how to get the RV working. It cracked me up because Zach kept calling them the hillbillies! While we were waiting for them to come look at it he kept saying "Are the hillbillies coming?" I think we need to go camping more!

Taylor and Colton

The next day Ben and Trevor took all the kids fishing except Sawyer who stayed in the RV with Heather and Me. Although it was raining and they didn't catch any fish they all had a lot of fun. They came back according to age. The littlest kids came back first and Zach and Nathan stayed out the entire time. We had a great time and are glad we could make some great memories with family and friends. Next Memorial Day we will for sure be more prepared, and the campers next to our campsite...will be calling us Hillbillies!!!
